The SB lane closures will start north of Greenfield, and the two westernmost lanes south of Greenfield will be closed for work. There will be only 1 driving lane closest to the median going SB on Hwy 100 from Greenfield to Lapham. Lane closures will begin this evening so work can begin at 10pm tonight and continue through 3 p.m. Friday. The City of West Allis is excited to welcome back the Tour of America’s Dairyland “Cheese Wheel Classic” for the fourth year. This annual bike race brings tours to 11 different communities over 11 days. Each day, eight to ten races are held from late morning to dusk with opportunities for junior riders to seasoned master racers, novices to pros, women, and men, and even hand cyclists.
The "Cheese Wheel Classic" takes place on Friday, June 20, from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. in the Becher Street neighborhood.
During the Community Hour from 6:10 – 7 p.m., the City of West Allis will be taking over the race course for an “Anything That Rolls” Community Hour. During this time, the community will be able to skate, scoot, ride, and roll their way through the racecourse and get a feel for what it’s like to ride the route you’ve seen the bikers racing on all day. We’ll blast the music, and you bring the wheels (skateboards, roller skates, roller blades, scooters, or bikes)!
This race is brought to you by the West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe in partnership with the City of West Allis, Beechwood Sales & Service, New Glarus, TriCity National Bank, and Fords Gin.Â
