The Chief of Police for the West Allis Police Department, Chief Patrick Mitchell, will host this public meeting. Topics will include an update on current law enforcement issues, crime trends, and challenges that impact our quality of life.
There will be two options for attending: In-person or streaming live on the WAPD Facebook page. Questions will be welcomed and addressed both in person and during the live stream.

Milwaukee County Transit System has announced service changes to Route #33, which runs through West Allis, starting Jan. 11, 2026. As of that day, the availability on weekdays will be from 6-9 a.m. and 3-6 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Public Works has confirmed there is a water main break on 96th Street and Cleveland Avenue. Crews will begin shutting down westbound Cleveland Avenue and detouring at 96th Street, but will wait for traffic from school release at Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School to clear before completing the shutdown. Water service to properties will be shut off on Cleveland from 96th to 99th Street until approximately 9 p.m. tonight.
Garbage/recycling pick-up will be adjusted for Christmas and New Year's Day. Find the schedule at WestAllisWI.gov/news. City facilities, including City Hall, Southwest Suburban Health Department, West Allis Public Library, West Allis Senior Center, and the Municipal Yard, will be closed on Dec. 24 - 25 and Jan. 1.

Starting on Jan. 1, 2026, there will be new garbage guidelines in place. Items must be properly prepared for curbside or alley pick up. Items placed outside the garbage cart are properly prepared if:
There are 3 items or fewer, and they are solid and not bendable. If more than 3 items are placed outside of the cart, they will be subject to a fee.
The total of all items does not exceed one cubic yard, the size of a standard clothes dryer.
No single item exceeds 50 pounds.
No items pose a threat to people or property.
Items must be safe and easy to remove.
Items are not a food source or attractive to rodents.
There are updates to mattresses and furniture collection as well:
Garbage crews will remove full, twin, and crib-size mattresses with regular collection as one of the 3 items outside of your cart. Each item should be less than 50 pounds, and the total of the 3 items should measure less than 1 cubic yard.
Furniture and other items may have a fee based on weight and handling requirements.

There has been a water main break on 111th Street and Lincoln Avenue. The break may affect water service at the Police Station and Rogers Hospital. The leak appears to be on 111th Street, and crews expect to close the street from Lincoln Avenue to Grant Street to complete repairs. Water will be shut off to all properties on 111th Street from Lincoln to Grant and on Lincoln Avenue from 111th Street to 114th Street. Repairs should be complete by 4 p.m.
