We're just two weeks away from the Age-Friendly West Allis Job Fair. Mark your calendars and join us on Thursday, May 14 from 3-6 p.m. in the Art Gallery located at West Allis City Hall at 7525 W. Greenfield Ave. This event will connect employers and organizations with job seekers and volunteers of all ages, with a special focus on experienced senior candidates looking for part-time work, seasonal employment, and volunteer opportunities. Did you know that the Public Beautification Committee (supported by the Public Works Forestry Division) sponsors annual awards for beautiful yards and properties in West Allis? Nominations are now open for the 2026 season! Awards are given to businesses and homeowners who devote extra effort to their property’s beautification and maintenance. Categories include Commendable Property, Best Porch, and Patriotic Display. Winners are awarded a framed certificate and a yard sign, honored in a ceremony, and have their property included in a photo and video on the City website.
Nominations for Commendable Property and Best Porch are due by Wednesday, June 17, and nominations for Patriotic Display are due three days before Memorial Day, Flag Day, and Independence Day.

City officials have decided to waive debris collection fees for residences that have sustained flood damage when they report the damage through the OpenGov form at www.WestAllisWI.gov/FloodAssistanceRequestForm
Fees will be waived at both the drop-off site at McGeoch Avenue and the requested bulk collections, as long as the flood damage has been reported using the link above.
