West Allis, WI — The Community Impact Partnership and Foundation announced that it will distribute relief funds raised to support families impacted by the historic August 9–10 flooding.
Thanks to generous contributions from the community, $17,800 has been raised to date. These funds will be directed to assist the 16 West Allis households whose homes suffered confirmed structural foundation collapse, leaving them uninhabitable. Each family will receive $1,000 in direct support. An additional $1,360 has been set aside to cover the cost of required foundation repair building permits for these same families should they choose to rebuild.
“While we know the need is far greater than what we can meet today, this step ensures that the families with the most severe damage are not left behind,” said Katie Kaluzynski, Foundation Board President. “We are grateful for the community’s generosity and will continue to look for ways to support those impacted.”
Over 1,000 homes in West Allis reported flood damage through 211, and more than 100 families requested financial assistance through the City of West Allis platform. The Foundation emphasized that this distribution reflects the funds raised so far and that additional support will depend on future resources and opportunities.
