In 2024, the City received positive feedback from residents, Horace Mann School, the Liberty Heights Neighborhood Association, and the alderpersons regarding the one-way street configuration installed during the construction of the bioswale bump-outs at the intersection of S. 62nd St. and W. Lapham Ave.
Because of the positive feedback, the alderpersons supported permanently changing S. 62nd St. and S. 63rd St. from W. Mitchell St. to W. National Ave. to one-way streets. An ordinance was passed by Common Council on Aug. 12.
Starting in October, the City will be installing the required signs. Once they are installed, parking will be allowed on both sides of the one-way streets except where signed "No Parking." Parked vehicles MUST be facing the same direction as the flow of traffic.
