A hand cutting a branch with pruners. Text reads "Brush Collection - Now through Oct. 3"

It's that time again - brush collection for woody material like sticks, trimmings, or branches from trees and shrubs. Public Works will provide every other week collection of small amounts of resident-generated brush, up to one (1) cubic yard, on the scheduled recycling pick-up day between June 2 and Oct. 3. No brush collection will be made during the holiday weeks of June 30 and Sept. 1, 2025. Follow these simple steps for collection:

  • Cut brush into lengths of five feet or less

  • Place the pile parallel between the sidewalk and curb

  • Put smaller pieces of loose brush in a box or can marked "brush"

  • Do not put brush in bags

  • Do not mix brush with yard waste (leaves, weeds, flowers, etc)

If you have more than one cubic yard, call the Sanitation and Street Division Monday through Friday at 414-302-8800 to arrange pick-up. Fees will apply. Cash and electronic payments (credit/debit) are accepted at our DPW drop-off site at 6300 W. McGeoch Ave. Convenience fees apply.
