It's that time again - brush collection for woody material like sticks, trimmings, or branches from trees and shrubs. Public Works will provide every-other-week collection of small amounts of resident-generated brush, up to one (1) cubic yard, on the scheduled recycling pick-up day between June 1 and Oct. 2. No brush collection will be made during the holiday weeks of JJune 29 and Sept. 7, 2026. Follow these simple steps for collection:
Cut brush into lengths of five feet or less
Place the pile parallel between the sidewalk and curb
Put smaller pieces of loose brush in a box or can marked "brush"
Do not put brush in bags
Do not mix brush with yard waste (leaves, weeds, flowers, etc)
If you have more than one cubic yard, submit a ticket to have Public Works make a special collection. Fees may apply.
After Oct. 2, brush can be brought to the Municipal Yard, but charges may apply. Learn more about brush collection. Cash and electronic payments (credit/debit) are accepted at our DPW drop-off site at 6300 W. McGeoch Ave. Convenience fees apply.
