West Allis Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan
Green Lane  Sharrow

Working with the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin, the City of West Allis developed and adopted a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan for the city.  This document serves as a blueprint for continuous improvement of pedestrian and bicycling conditions throughout West Allis.  The Plan identifies existing and desirable bicycle routes and pedestrian improvements within the city, including connections to neighboring municipalities.  The Plan also identifies and prioritizes bicycle facility project needs and provides references for best practices in planning, designing, implementing and maintaining those facilities.

West Allis Bike Racks
From 2013-2016, the City of West Allis utilized Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to purchase and install nearly 50 City-branded bike racks throughout grant-eligible areas in West Allis.

Based on the popularity of that program, an additional number of racks have been purchased utilizing privately donated money to the City’s Community Improvement Foundation into a program known as West Allis ArtScape.  That program aims to make positive impacts on public improvements that spark visual cues of community pride.

 Bike Rack
A limited number of West Allis-branded bike racks are currently available for installation throughout West Allis through this West Allis ArtScape program.  The program will be open until those racks have been installed (or more have been purchased).  Only one (1) grant-provided bike shall be available per requested location, as determined by the Department of Development.  If desired, additional racks, subject to availability, may be purchased through the Department of Development.

More information, including how to purchase a rack, may be found on the City of West Allis Bike Rack
