  1. Preserving Our Memories-A Creative Grief Therapy Group

    November 21, 2019, 1:00 PM - 2:15 PM @ Senior Center

Taking part in grief rituals is a great way to help process and cope with the pain of losing someone important to you. Creating a detailed memory book is quickly becoming a preferred activity for people dealing with loss. Join us for this 6-week group session where you’ll create such a book. It can include pictures, stories or anecdotes of favorite memories, quotes of your loved one, poems as well as favorite food recipes, vacations, events, teams or favorite holidays so their memories continue to live on. All materials and instruction provided, you need only bring in photos or other mementos to work with, understanding that some items may need to be cropped or otherwise altered to fit the memory book pages. This program is sponsored by VITAS Healthcare and is at the Senior Center on Thursdays: October 24, 31, November 7, 14, 21 and December 5 from 1 – 2:15 pm. Pre-registration is required by Thursday, October 17. Call 414-302-8700. Program is free and open to adults.
