  1. Memorial Day Parade & Memorial Service

    May 27, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Veterans' Memorial Park

    Each year, a Memorial Day Program supported by the City of West Allis and coordinated by The Allied Veterans' Organizations of West Allis takes place each at Veterans' Memorial Park at S. 69th St. and W. National Ave. The program begins with a parade, followed by a memorial service. Join us as we honor and remember. The parade route will begin on W. Greenfield Av. at S. 81 St., proceed east to S. 70 St., and proceed south from S. 70 St. to W. Orchard St.

    Women are invited to learn more about supporting their mental health through an inspiring evening of speakers and activities, including yoga, music therapy, mindfulness training, and more. Guest speakers include Carrie McEvoy Ripp, MSW, presenting "Your Mental Health Matters," and Bethany Debroux Adams, M.A., presenting "Taking the Long Way: One Woman's Journey Beyond Mental Illness to Health and Happiness."     Teens in grades 6 - 12 will learn how mindfulness can decrease stress and improve their mental health. Make a bath bomb, color a mandala, or create a galaxy jar as you learn how to support your mental health.     The Plan Commission consists of the Mayor and seven citizen members who are appointed by the Mayor for three year terms.The Plan Commission is responsible for guiding the orderly development of the City through oversight of both current and long range City Planning activities consisting of the following: Land Use Planning; Site, Landscaping and Architectural Review; and, Comprehensive Planning.Meetings are convened on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm.The Plan Commission is supported by staff from the Department of Development, Planning & Zoning Division.
