West Allis Police Department Citizen Police Academy (PD-CPA)
What is the Citizen Police Academy?
The Citizen Police Academy is a ten-week informative overview of the West Allis Police Department’s operations designed to provide the citizens of West Allis a first-hand look. Classes will be held on Wednesdays beginning March 11 through May 20 (no class April 8th) from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the West Allis Police Department, 11301 W Lincoln Ave. Each week’s topic will provide insight into the West Allis Police Department. Participants are also provided with the opportunity to ask experienced officers questions about police services.
Participants will be instructed in current issues facing law enforcement and will also be exposed to techniques that officers use on a daily basis in managing resistance and aggression of citizens. Presentations will be provided by frontline personnel such as Patrol Officers, Traffic Investigators, K-9 Handlers, and members of SWAT. Participants will also have the opportunity to fire a handgun on our range.

Individuals who apply for the Citizen Police Academy must be at least 18 years of age, live, work or own property in the City of West Allis, and will be subject to a background check.
