Recycling Carts are coming

Recycling Carts Are Coming Your Way!

No more blue bags! West Allis' recycling program will be switching to a single-stream, cart-based system in June. Here's what you need to know:

  • 96 gallon recycling carts will be delivered to all single family, duplex, and three-and-four unit apartment complexes beginning June 19.
  • Carts will be delivered curbside, but can be placed in alleys or in your regular recycling pick-up spot for collection.
  • Carts are FREE OF CHARGE - these initial carts are provided at no cost to residents. If your cart is damaged or stolen, you may purchase a replacement cart.
  • You do not need to bag your recyclables once you have received your cart. Place recyclables directly in the cart.
  • Cardboard, glass, aluminum, and plastics #1-7 can now be recycled together.
  • Recycling collection schedules will not change.
