January 6 Coronavirus Updates

Our new Snow Angels program pairs able-bodied volunteers with senior or disabled neighbors to assist those in need with snow removal. We have received a great response to this program and are in need of additional volunteers to help neighbors with snow removal. At this time, we have more requests for assistance than we do volunteers, so some of those in need may not have anyone to assist them at this time.  If you are interested in volunteering, please visit Thank you for helping a neighbor in need!

Please be aware of the adjusted fee schedule for the Municipal Yard Drop-Off location and fees for the special collection of designated materials at residential locations.  These fees were adjusted to defer some of the incurred labor, equipment, and processing costs for these special collections and/or processing of these materials at our drop-off locations.

The West Allis Department of Public Works manages a comprehensive refuse and recycling program. The program serves nearly 17,500 parcels or 20,800 total residential living units during a normal collection week and provides a suite of options for residents to manage household recycling, refuse, special waste, and yard waste in a manner that is efficient, convenient, environmentally sound, and prioritizes public health and safety. The program relies on fee revenue to offset a portion of the total program cost.  Fees for the overall program have not increased in over seven years.

It includes important holidays, Common Council meeting dates, and of course, dates for our 2021 events so you can plan ahead!  Calendars are $8 for one, $14 for two, or $20 for three. Order now:
