Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) staff will be visiting the West Allis Senior Center, 7001 W. National Ave., on Tuesday, June 25 from 1 - 2:30 p.m.  to present the Freedom on Wheels program. 

Freedom on Wheels is a two-part presentation for groups of individuals that would like to learn to ride the bus.

Part One

Classroom-type setting, focusing on transportation options, acceptable fare forms, proper bus etiquette rules, safety concerns, and trip planning using the Ride MCTS website and app.

Part Two

Participants take a tour of an MCTS bus, followed by a short bus ride to enhance the hands-on-feel of riding the bus and practicing what was discussed in the classroom.

Goals of the program include:

  • Route and schedule knowledge 
  • Bus etiquette 
  • New technologies and features on the bus 
  • Problem solving techniques 

This program is open to the public and free for all. Presenters include MCTS travel trainer Jo-Ellen Douville and mobility manager Chris Fox. Program attendees must pre-register by calling the West Allis Senior Center at 414-302-8700. Only 35 spots are available, so register today!
