  2. Leisure Learners Presentation: Lincoln @ Gettysburg (DVD presentation)

    The telegraph was the newest technology at the time of Abraham Lincoln, and he was able to use it in his presidency in history-changing ways. Come and learn how the telegraph changed the course of history at the battle of Gettysburg in this month of honoring American history.

  3. Amazing Art with Mary Tooley

    July 9, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Library, Children's Story Room

    2nd-5th graders, sign up to create some amazing art pieces. The second session is 'Junk Printing!' Have you ever made a terrific picture using potato mashers, jar lids and all sorts of cool junk? That's what will be happening at our junk printing workshop. You will be surprised at all the wonderful designs you can print with simple objects, recyclables, paint and paper. Print up a storm and then find out about creative ways to use your printed papers. Each session is limited to 25 participants, so be sure to register starting on June 1 (call or stop in the Children's Department).
