  1. Vote April 3, 2018 Election

    April 3, 8:00 AM - 11:55 PM @ City Hall

    Offices to vote for include Justice of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals Judge, Circuit Court Judges, County Supervisor, and West Allis-West Milwaukee, et al. Board of Education. In addition, the ballot will have a referendum question. Visit the City Clerk’s election page on the City’s website for more information about voter registration, photo ID requirements, absentee voting, important deadlines, and polling place locations. Sample ballots will also be posted on the City’s website once they become available. If you are unsure about your voter registration status, you can visit the State’s Voter Information Center website at https://myvote.wi.gov/.

    Preschool Power is a storytime for children who are 3-5 years old. Each session includes age appropriate songs, rhymes, and books. Sessions end with a craft. Registration is required and can be done in person, online, or by calling the library at 414-302-8502 beginning January 2.

    This storytime is for children ages 5 and under, with a caregiver. Each session includes age appropriate songs, rhymes, and books. Following each storytime, there is a short playtime or craft.   1. Living Well With Chronic Conditions

    April 3, 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM @ Library Square

    Developed by Stanford University, this six-week workshop helps participants gain control of their lives through manageable action plans and support from peers. Program topics include: dealing with frustration, fatigue, pain, and isolation; exercise for maintaining strength, flexibility, and endurance; appropriate use of medications; communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals; evaluating new treatment options; and healthy eating. The program will be held on Tuesdays, starting March 20 through April 24, from 1 - 3:30 p.m., at Library Square, 1820 S. 75th St. The cost of the program is free; however, there is a textbook that can be purchased, although this is not required.     Walk With Ease is designed to help people living with arthritis better manage their pain, but it's also ideal for people without arthritis who want to make walking a regular habit. If you can be on your feet for 10 minutes without increased pain, Walk With Ease may be for you. Program Benefits include: reducing the pain and discomfort of arthritis; increasing your balance, strength, and walking pace; building confidence in your ability to be physically active; and improving your overall health. Those who attend classes will be entered in a drawing for a health and wellness gift basket! Classes are open to adults of any age.
