  1. Living Well With Chronic Conditions

    April 24, 2018, 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM @ Library Square

    Developed by Stanford University, this six-week workshop helps participants gain control of their lives through manageable action plans and support from peers. Program topics include: dealing with frustration, fatigue, pain, and isolation; exercise for maintaining strength, flexibility, and endurance; appropriate use of medications; communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals; evaluating new treatment options; and healthy eating. The program will be held on Tuesdays, starting March 20 through April 24, from 1 - 3:30 p.m., at Library Square, 1820 S. 75th St. The cost of the program is free; however, there is a textbook that can be purchased, although this is not required.   2. Walk With Ease

    April 24, 2018, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Senior Center

    Walk With Ease is designed to help people living with arthritis better manage their pain, but it's also ideal for people without arthritis who want to make walking a regular habit. If you can be on your feet for 10 minutes without increased pain, Walk With Ease may be for you. Program Benefits include: reducing the pain and discomfort of arthritis; increasing your balance, strength, and walking pace; building confidence in your ability to be physically active; and improving your overall health. Those who attend classes will be entered in a drawing for a health and wellness gift basket! Classes are open to adults of any age.
