General Information

When you file a police report, an officer or detective will conduct an investigation. You may contact the West Allis Police Department at anytime to report additional information, ask questions, or determine the status of your investigation. If an arrest is made, an officer or detective will contact you to let you know that this occurred. If an adult has been arrested for a misdemeanor or felony and they are unable to post bail, they will be transferred to the Milwaukee County Criminal Justice Facility, which is located at:

Milwaukee, WI, 53233

Juvenile Detention

If a juvenile has been arrested for a misdemeanor or felony, they may be transferred to Milwaukee County Children's Court Center - Juvenile Detention, which is located at:
10201 W Watertown Plank Road
Wauwatosa, WI 53226. 

Information about juveniles being held at the facility can be obtained by calling 414-257-7719. Cases involving adults and juveniles arrested for misdemeanor or felony offenses are referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for prosecution and you will be contacted by their Victim Witness Unit regarding your rights if charges are issued against the person who was arrested. The Victim Witness Unit can be contacted at 414-278-4050.

Reporting Threats & Intimidation

If you are subjected to threats or intimidation because of your cooperation with the police and / or prosecutors in a case, contact the West Allis Police Department at 414-302-8000 or, if you are in immediate danger, call 911!

Exercising Your Rights as a Crime Victim

Agencies in the criminal justice system will make a good faith attempt to contact you and assist you in exercising your rights as a crime victim throughout the criminal justice process. If you change your address and / or phone number while the process is underway, please contact the West Allis Police Department and provide updated information so that you can be contacted.
