OVERNIGHT PARKING TICKET VIOLATIONS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED

As of Sunday, March 22, 2020, the West Allis Police Department has temporarily ceased issuing parking tickets for violations of the overnight parking ordinances. However, West Allis Police will continue to respond to complaints for violations of things such as obstructed traffic, loading zones, and handicapped parking.

Parking Enforcement Resumes June 1

Parking enforcement will resume on June 1. Parking permits will be available for online purchase beginning May 22. Enjoy discounted rates when purchasing online.

To help ensure you don’t get ticketed at some point down the road (because you didn’t receive the advanced notice), it is recommended to continue alternating sides and to continue parking with a valid permit.

Overnight Parking Permit

West Allis City Ordinances prohibits parking on City of West Allis streets from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. without a permit or permission. Overnight parking, where permitted, is restricted to the even numbered side of the street on those nights with an even calendar date before midnight, and to the odd numbered side of the street on those nights with an odd calendar date before midnight. These night parking regulations are in effect every night of the year. Apply for an overnight parking permit.

Temporary Overnight Parking Permission

Special permission for overnight parking between may be obtained by calling 414-302-8100 between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. Between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m, call 414-302-8000. No permission will be granted after 3 a.m. When calling, you will be asked for the location of the parked vehicle, the vehicle’s license plate number and the reason for the request. Municipal Parking Lot Permits

Parking in the City of West Allis parking lots in the downtown area (7000 to 7500 blocks of west Greenfield Avenue) as well as various locations throughout the city, requires a permit unless otherwise noted by a sign. Apply for a Municipal Lot Parking Permit.
