Join the City of West Allis, West Allis Events Committee, and the West Allis-West Milwaukee Recreation and Community Services Department for this year’s Independence Day celebrations on July 2 and July 4! Start your holiday weekend off right by bringing the whole family to the festive parade in downtown West Allis on Friday evening and end your weekend with a boom on Sunday evening! Enjoy the amazing sounds of Our House band followed by an incredible fireworks show hosted by Festival Foods the West Allis Independence Parade is an annual holiday tradition and brings in about 6,000 attendees each year.  Enjoy floats, marching bands vehicles, other exciting features, and, of course, Bucky Badger and the University of Wisconsin Marching Band!

The parade marshaling area is at the intersection of 77th Street and Greenfield Avenue. All groups should report no later than 6:30 p.m. Parade Line-Up will be emailed approximately one week prior to the parade and will be posted at www.westalliswi.gov/independenceday. We recommend when you arrive to please see one of the parade marshals to confirm your parade lineup number. Please Note: For safety purposes, no motor vehicles will be allowed on 77th Street. ALL motorized vehicles will be marshaled on Greenfield Avenue at 77th Street going west and should report to this area beginning at 6:15 p.m. ALL marching/walking units will be marshaled on 77th St. north of Greenfield Ave. All groups must be ready to begin/perform at 6:45 p.m.  

Parade registration is closed for the 2021 parade. 

Parade Route

  • Parade route starts at 77th and Greenfield, continues east on Greenfield towards 70th St, and then south onto 70th St. to Orchard Ave.

independence day grandstand show and festival foods fireworks 

Sunday, July 4, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.

The annual grandstand show will begin at 8:30 p.m. followed by the Festival Food Fireworks display at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the State Fair Park Grandstands located at 640 S. 84th St. Enjoy a free, family-friendly concert with music by Our House followed by the fireworks. Parking at State Fair Park opens at 7:30 p.m. and costs $6 per vehicle. In case of weather issues, please check the City website home page under "City News" or the City’s Facebook page.
