THE 2023 CPAT TESTING HAS ENDED FOR THE SEASON

Please review the CPAT FAQ Section located on the lower right of this page to answer any questions you may have regarding the CPAT testing process and registration.  Please note that the fee for CPAT Testing is $165.  The only person allowed in the Fire Station and/or on the CPAT course is the testing participant.  We are not able to accommodate additional people other than testing participants and on-duty staff.

The West Allis Fire Department conducts CPAT orientations, time trials and testing at Fire Station 62 located at:

2040 S. 67th Place
West Allis, WI  53219

Trials & Testing

The CPAT time trials and test begin at 9 a.m. and CPAT orientations begin at 1 p.m.  We do not conduct any official testing at orientations.

The West Allis Fire Department shall perform CPAT in accordance with the IAFF/IAFC program description and instructions (IAFF, CPAT second edition). Candidates who successfully complete a CPAT time trial or test will receive one (1) West Allis Fire Department site-validated certificate of completion. Additional copies of validated certificates will be available upon written request for an additional fee of $10.

Candidates who fail the CPAT test may retest on the next available test date that a testing vacancy exists. A candidate who wishes to retest must complete another CPAT application and submit the required corresponding CPAT fee.

A candidate who passes the WAFD test has no reasonable expectation that the testing result or certification will be accepted anywhere else or by any other agency. Agencies are welcome to accept a candidate’s WAFD CPAT certificate at their own discretion and by their own authority. The West Allis Fire Department will confirm passing CPAT results to other agencies at the agency’s request only. The West Allis Fire Department will not furnish test results in lieu of providing candidates with validated certificates.
