Have a passion for knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting? If so, consider becoming a Gifts of Warmth volunteer at West Allis Senior Center.
Work at your own pace creating handmade items such as mittens, blankets, scarves, and hats, which are donated to area organizations for distribution to veterans in need, homebound adults, homeless populations, and local schools.
The yarn and fabric are provided, you share your time, talent and creativity. Accepted items include:
Hand sewn polar fleece mittens
Knitted, crocheted, or loomed hats, scarves, or mittens
Knitted, crocheted, or quilted blankets or afghans
Crocheted 7” x 9” rectangles using leftover yarn from other projects (these are collected by the Gift of Warmth program and pieced together by volunteers to create large size afghans).
The West Allis Senior Center accepts donations of 4-ply yarn and new polar fleece fabric for its Gifts of Warmth Program.
