The second award for 2013 was for a Cart Lift Adapter, which was a lift put on the back of the garbage trucks that allowed the employees to simply push the garbage carts onto the lift mechanism instead of using extra force and hoping the carts bounced high enough to land on the lip of the cart lift. This idea was submitted by the Sanitation employees.
