The City of West Allis Police Department developed a comprehensive on-site training program to provide internal education and sworn personnel career development. The on-site training program consists of training courses that are 16 to 80 hours in length. These courses are designed and instructed by departmental staff and offered to all sworn personnel. All sworn officers are encouraged to participate and submit ideas for course content. This on-site program with its internal course offerings was designed to be supportive of all other training initiatives and the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) process.
