Sanitation Section
Refuse and Recycling for the 2014 Christmas and New Year Holidays
West Allis DPW offices are closed and refuse and recycling will not be collected on Wednesday, December 24; Thursday, December 25; and Thursday, January 1, 2015.  The Municipal Yard will be open on Saturday, December 27.  Refuse and recycling collections are affected by weeks with a holiday.  Crews may work ahead or fall behind the normal route schedule during the holiday weeks.  Refuse or recyclables not collected should be made available on the next scheduled work day.  Please see the Public Works' Refuse and Recycling Document Library for more information.

The Sanitation Section is responsible for the collection of refuse from one through three family residences and recyclables from one through four family residences. Properties are serviced from either a curbside location or an alley location.

Junk mail kits are available to help reduce the amount of unwanted junk mail you receive. Each kit contains three cards to mail which will result in removal of your name from certain mailings lists and phone numbers to call to stop receiving pre-approved credit card offers and to remove your name from mailing brokers' lists. Junk mail kits are available at City Hall, the Library, Municipal Yard and Police Department.

Information regarding refuse collection can be found in Section 7.05 of the Revised Municipal Code and information regarding recycling can be found in Section 7.051 of the Revised Municipal Code.
