Pleas may be entered on your Court date or by mail to the Clerk of Courts
During your Court session, the exact violation against you will be read. You may enter a plea of
- Guilty - you admit that you committed the violation.
- Not Guilty - you deny committing the violation. The Court will assign you a pretrial conference date to attempt to resolve your citation with the City Attorney. If you are unable to resolve your citation, you will be given a trial date. Failure to appear at a pre-trial conference will result in a default judgment being entered against you.
- No Contest - you neither admit nor deny committing the violation. As a result of this plea, you will be found guilty and fined accordingly, but this guilty finding cannot be used against you in any other action related to the charge against you.
