Settler's Weekend - August 26 & 27, 2017 Save the Date!
The mission of the Historical Preservation's Settler's Weekend is to educate everyone about the history and lifestyles in West Allis leading up to our  City’s birth in 1906. The two-day encampment includes Traders, Trappers, Frontiersmen, Craftsmen, and  Civil War soldiers, each dressed in authentic attire and re-enacting their respective skills and tools.

Visitors can take a guided cemetery tour, and enjoy the foods, ice cream social, or relax and listen to the entertainment and watch local artisans perform their skills.

This is truly an event for the Community. There is no cost to participate or to stop in and enjoy the day. Parking is free in and around Honey Creek Park on 84th & National Avenue.

This will be the 12th annual West Allis Settlers Weekend. The event was started in 2006 and continues to grow in participation and popularity. The attendance in 2014 was approximately 3,000
citizens, made up of generations of families.

Log School House
 Log Schoolhouse
The Honey Creek Log School Museum was developed as community celebration for Wisconsin’s Sequential anniversary and to recognize the early settlers of “Honey Creek.” The Log School House provides education opportunities for local students studying Wisconsin history. The education experience for students consists of a “classroom,” as it would have been conducted in the 1840’s. A docent “teacher” adopts the persona of William Wallace Johnson or his sister, Marion Johnson Cooper, who were the first teachers at the Honey Creek School.
