CPAT Test Administration
Please review the CPAT FAQ Section to the right of this page to answer any additional questions you may have regarding the CPAT testing process and registration before calling the Administration Offices.  Please note that the CPAT Testing fee is $140.00.

The CPAT test will be administered in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the IAFF/IAFC CPAT Program (IAFF, second edition). Candidates should arrive at the test site approximately 20 minutes prior to the 9:00 am test time to allow for personal preparation (stretching, warm-up, etc.). You must present valid photo identification and sign a number of forms before taking the CPAT test. A video detailing the CPAT test events and the failure points will be shown. It is your responsibility to ask questions if you do not understand any parts of the test events or procedures.

At the conclusion of the CPAT you must sign a Rehabilitation form prior to leaving the test site.

Post CPAT Test
Candidates who have paid the $140.00 registration fee and successfully complete a CPAT time trial or test will receive one (1) original site-validated certificate. Additional certificates may be obtained via a written request and for an additional $10.00 processing fee.

Candidates who fail to pass a CPAT time trial or test will be excused from the site without documentation. The purpose of the West Allis Fire Department's CPAT Program is to provide participants with an opportunity to successfully pass the CPAT test. Failures will not be documented, and files of failed attempts will not be maintained. However, a general file of candidates and their results will be maintained. Candidates may test as often as they wish, provided they proceed through the process described within the West Allis Fire Department's CPAT instructions. Inquiries from other agencies regarding failed CPAT attempts will not be provided.
