Bike Share
   Milwaukee Bike Share

In 2015, the City of West Allis received Federal grant funding from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) to design and implement a Bike Share system in West Allis.  The projected total project cost of the nine-station system is $499,200, which requires a 20% local match that is expected to be funded by a combination of private contributions and successful redevelopment projects.  The system, once installed, would be operated by an outside organization.

On June 14, 2016, the City of West Allis, along with its selected engineering consultant R.A. Smith, held a Public Information Meeting to discuss the proposed system and draft station locations.  You may submit formal comments regarding the system using this form.

Based on input, station locations are currently being revised in preparation for review and confirmation in late summer 2016.  Once finalized, environmental reports, station design and equipment procurement will begin.  The system is expected to be operational in summer of 2017.

If you have any questions regarding West Allis' proposed Bike Share system, please contact the Departments of Engineering or Development.
